Oh what great weather for a bike ride! There has been plenty going on around here at Thumbuddy Special.
We have funded 5 adapted bikes for our kids with special needs. Brothers Nick and Vince have been riding everyday since receiving their new bikes. Diego, Matthew and Zachary also received new bikes. There is nothing more touching than witnessing a child ride a bike for the first time.
Thumbuddy Special has been working with A to Z Mobility and DSCC on the installation of outdoor lifts for 3 students in the Berwyn and Cicero area. These projects are in the works….lots of phone calls and connections…and things are moving in the right direction.
On October 14th, I am taking 2 Berwyn students with muscular dystrophy, Yalina and Curtis, to a recording studio in Chicago. They will be recording music and working on sound techniques. You may remember Yalina from the Carlucci Night when she belted out a tune. Just bringing a little joy into the lives of 2 special kids.
