We all have a story to tell over this last year, the negative impact this pandemic has had on us all. Whether we have lost a loved one to Covid, lost our incomes, or the daily grind of isolation or social unrest have all weighed heavy on our hearts. Through this crisis though, many bright lights have shined. The perseverance of our frontline workers, neighbors helping neighbors, or people giving of their resources to complete strangers to help them get by.
Thumbuddy Special had to take many twists and turns. Small non-profits have struggled to say the least due to no in person fundraising events. Thumbuddy Special has persevered thanks to our loyal supporters. Last summer we assisted 50 families with grants to hold them over, Mom’s Day Out was reinvented to Baskets of Love, Christmas looked different too, but we assisted 150 families with Baskets of Cheer.

Now we move into another year of uncertainty. Thumbuddy Special’s last fundraiser was March 7, 2020, our Spring Happy Hour, the very next week, the world shut down.
We feel in person gatherings are still too restrictive to be safe for all. Therefore, we are asking our supporters to stay the course and help us through on-line giving. We are running a variety of activities; starting with our March Madness Thumbuddy Special Fundraiser, organized by Bob and Tracy Judge, details below.

| If basketball isn’t your thing, you can still help us shine brighter with a donation through one of these channels- Venmo – @thumbuddy-special Our website- thumbuddyspecial.org (PayPal, credit cards, etc.) Our Golf Outing will not take place this summer. We are hoping to have an in person event at Goldfinger Brewery in Downers Grove in September. Details to follow. Coming this Spring we will reinstate our CASH RAFFLE with lots of prizes to be awarded to our lucky winners. Thumbuddy Special will be looking for ticket sellers! The drawing will be held at the Fall Fundraiser. Please reach out to Mary Ellen to volunteer to sell tickets for the CASH RAFFLE. It’s an easy way to widen our circle of support.
