Friends of Thumbuddy Special
As Fall is upon us, Thumbuddy Special is gearing up for a very busy season of giving. We are now preparing for our Mom’s Day Out event. This year 12 Mom’s of children with physical disabilities are being treated to a day of pampering on November 4th. This day is simply extraordinary! A Limo picks up and drops off the moms. They then go shopping, followed by the “salon treatment” and ending with a delicious dinner at our favorite restaurant Carlucci. The moms are also given a basket of “pampering” items to take home.
There is where you can help out. We are collecting for these baskets….shampoos, nail polishes, candles, candy, socks and any items that would brighten up our special moms. You can drop off these items to my house or call me and I’ll make arrangements for a pick up. Any items that we have left over we use for our teenagers and moms at Christmas time for needy families. I will need these items by November 1st.
On a side note we are also collecting items for our dads and male teenagers; socks, t-shirts, shampoos etc and toys for our children from the needy families. These are collected anytime between now and December 18th. Any toys that you and your family or friends would like to donate, would be so appreciated. By the Grace of God, all the toys and items that we receive are given away at the Christmas Season. It always works out to the very last toy!

A Big Kudos to our friends at Swanson Martin and Bell. This last month they sponsored a wonderful night out for clients at the Tavern Tree House. Proceeds from the Auction went to Thumbuddy Special. They also gave away 2 overnight packages to two of our families, for rest and relaxation! What a fabulous night!
