Happy Belated Mother’s Day

Happy Belated Mother’s Day from Thumbuddy Special!

Thank you to all the friends who are busy selling our cash raffle tickets! It is not too late to get in on the action. Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20. First Place-$500, Second Place-$300 and (2) Third Place Winners-$100.

Let me know if you are “feeling lucky” and send in your money. I will fill in your lucky tickets.

This past Friday, we hosted our Spring Happy Hour in Forest Park. A fabulous time was had by all. And as usual, the “Spirit” was powerful! God’s Work is fascinating to watch unfold. Angie and Bryan’s family received a “like-new” adapted van with a lift. This family has 2 children with Spina Bifida, both in wheelchairs. That is one Special Mom and Dad. The video below captures the excitement. Thank you for making this fabulous gift happen!

We are grateful beyond words for your support,
God Bless

Mary Ellen

A SPECIAL THANK YOU….

Dear Mary Ellen and the Foundation Board,

Please accept my sincere thanks for your generous donation of $10,000 that we will use to help families enroll in the West Suburban Special Recreation Association’s summer day camps. As you may know, we are inundated with summer day camp registrations and have an overwhelming amount of families who need scholarships. We take our mission to serve very seriously and have found it difficult to help everyone who expressed a need. Your very generous donation will allow us to give 15 – 20 kids a fun filled summer program!

It is through your generosity that we are able to meet the needs of so many families. Thank you again. We look forward to telling you more about the kids and the great summer they have with WSSRA.

Warmest Regards,
Marianne Birko

SAVE THE DATE

2014 GOLF OUTING

There was a misprint in the last newsletter, the Golf Outing is Friday, July 18 not July 25. More information to follow.

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that Thumbuddy Special lost a long time supporter, Nancy Snyder. Nancy was an Early Childhood teacher in Berwyn South at Irving School. She spent her life campaigning for Children with Special Needs, specializing with the Autistic population. Nancy had a generous heart and a hardy laugh. Her life motto was, “Take Care of Each Other”.

The Snyder family carried on her legacy with donations to Thumbuddy Special and for that we are grateful.
