Happy Easter from Thumbuddy Special
Just recovering from my daughter’s wedding…wonderful time, beautiful bride and fabulous new son-in-law!
Thumbuddy Special is gearing up for our Spring Happy Hour on April 20th. This one is conveniently located for our near westsiders at Pasians in Berwyn, details on the attachment. It is a great venue, come by if you are in the neighborhood. It should be a fun night out, Pasians has fabulous pizza!
This month Thumbuddy Special is purchasing an ipad for our buddy Klayvon. Klayvon has cerebral palsy and kidney failure. He is a “cracker-jack” of a kid, and he must go to dialysis 3 days a week. We thought that having an ipad while he is sitting there all day would be a wonderful way to keep him occupied.
We also helped fund an adapted bike for Ethan. Ethan has CHARGE Syndrome and is a very involved child; he is deaf and legally blind and has a variety of medical issues which affect swallowing, balance, breathing and behavior. Because of his deaf-blindness and balance issues, the only way Ethan can ride a bike for any considerable distance is by tandem. This bike will allow him to go on bike rides with his family. Attached is a picture of Ethan on the trial bike.
I also attached a picture of 2 of our friends at Alden Village who received bikes back in January. The case worker, Roxanne wrote, “Thank you again for the two bikes you donated to Luaey and Corny at Alden Village. They both enjoy the bikes very much!!! Thank you for making it possible for them to cruise around in a fun fashion!”
