Everyone had a great time at the Spring Happy Hour (s) at Pasians on April 20th, it was our largest crowd ever! Max was there on his new bike and Horacio arrived in his “like-new” accessible van!
In memory of our friend Brian McGarry, a $10,000 scholarship was awarded to our friends at West Suburban Special Recreation Association for Summer Camp Fun! Due to the popularity of the “Polar Express”, Thumbuddy Special is sponsoring another fun filled train ride in August included in this camp scholarship…too much fun!
We have partnered with our friends at DuPage Easter Seals for many years, sponsoring the “Gift of Gab” scholarship in memory of Joan McCann. This year we are purchasing 10 ipads for children either with a speech language disability or a child fighting a chronic illness such as cancer or kidney failure. It is our hope that these children will be able to communicate their needs more efficiently or they will be able to keep up with school work via the internet. Not to mention the fun and motivation that the ipads provides. Each child will receive the Apple Care insurance, itunes gift card and a case.
We will be awarding these ipads throughout the next couple of months. As I receive pictures and thanks, I will forward them on to you.
Spring is in the air with Summer right around the corner! That means the Thumbuddy Special Golf Outing is only a couple of months away!

We just approved the purchase of another 2 adapted bikes, for Cinthia and Charlie. Attached is a picture of Charlie on his trial bike. We hope to see Charlie at the golf outing!
The 2nd picture is Henry, we are paying the co-pay of $1,300 for his new adapted stroller.
Raffle tickets for the cash raffle drawing to be held at our May 21st Board Meeting are still on sale. It’s not too late to get yours! Better odds than the lottery!
Email me back your number of tickets that you want and I’ll put them in the drawing and you can send me your $$$ in the mail. This is a very trusting organization! 5 bucks each or 5 for $20…
