Here’s the latest….
Our Mom’s Day Out is all set to go on November 6th.13 moms of children with autism are being treated to a day of pampering. A big thank you to all who contributed to the “pamper” baskets, especially the teachers of North and South Berwyn School Districts, Cicero and Forest Park School Districts and of St. John of the Cross in Western Springs. I’m sure the Moms will be so excited to see all the pampering items. All of the items “left over” will be used this Christmas Season for the teenage girls and moms from the needy families.
Due to a scheduling difficulty, the Holiday Happy Hour has been postponed a week to Friday, December 2nd. . Hope you can join us for a friendly night out, families are welcomed. There is no admission, only having raffle drawings and split the pot raffles, ordering off the menu. We all had a great time last year. Come out and join the fun!
Thumbuddy Special recently purchased a new adapted bike for my buddy Max. He is so excited! Pictures to follow. The Polar Express is also sponsored by Thumbuddy Special. We work with West Suburban Special Recreation and sponsor families to take a ride to the North Pole. I think that this is our 5th trip to visit the Big Guy! All the children on “board” receive a gift from Thumbuddy Special. It is a magical day. Pictures from last year are attached.
We are getting ready for our Needy Family Christmas Drive. If you would like to donate new toys or gifts for young teenage boys and men we are willing to pick up anything any where! This year the list has grown, due to the difficult times out there.
If you know of a family that needs assistance during this Season, let us know and we will make sure that they are helped.
