We all remember the feeling of our first bike ride! Well, Thumbuddy Special has been busy getting our special children out and riding for the summer months. Suraj, Megan, Sammy received bikes last month and this month TS provided bikes for 4 more deserving children:
Natalia
“Dear Thumbuddy Special
Thank you for the new bike. I love it! Now I can go to the park and ride with my sisters! Now I can work my muscles and have fun! Thanks! You Rock!
Love Natalia”
(there are a lot of sparkles on the card and she drew a picture of her on the bike with a bubble of her saying “”woo hoo”!)

Paul
We could not have imagined how much joy Paul would receive from his new bike! Thank you so much for making this happen for him. We knew having ataxia and difficulty with balance and gross motor skills this bike would provide him with the therapy he needs to keep strong. But the therapy he is getting by having complete independence is not measurable! He literally is laughing out loud while he rides it up and down the block, and all the neighborhood children are cheering! Thank you Thumbuddy Special! This really is such a gift! We have attached a video of him laughing while riding so you can see what joy you have brought for him.

Mahogany
Dear Thumbuddy Special
Thank you for your generosity and support of donating the adapted bike to my daughter Mahogany. You have given my daughter the opportunity to increase her mobility and health as well as being able to be active in her community, in addition to having more activities she can have in common with her friends that’s normally limited to her due to her physical limitations. You also have given my daughter so much joy and the feeling of independence. I know it’s going to increase her self-esteem and instill in her she can do anything. Mahogany lights up every time she sees the adapted bike in therapy and the look in her eyes is priceless. When she sees someone passing by on a bike, she sticks out her hand out to say she wants a bike too! And I would say “I know you want a bike Mahogany, you are going to be able to ride one someday”. But deep inside I knew I didn’t have the means to get an adapted bike and I knew she wouldn’t be able to ride a regular one. But you have now made someday a reality for her and my heart is so overwhelmed with joy.
Many thanks to you again for making it possible for us, otherwise where it would have normally been impossible to give our daughter the equipment she needs to make a huge impact in her life.
I wish Thumbuddy’s all the best for making such a difference in so many families’ lives. My prayer is that all the good you have done for other’s that you will get it back a hundred times over. I’m so glad that there are organizations such as yours that are so caring and eager to help families like mine.
Sincerely,
Tiffney
